V8 swap works the best.

Otherwise, you can get your 3.9 to sound like a V8 only at idle...once you hit the gas, it'll still sound like the V6 that it is.

I've found my truck sounds AWESOME at idle with a Flowmaster 40 series muffler and a 3 1/2" turndown directly off of it.

Factory catcon directly connected to stock type Maremont muffler (no intermediate pipe) sounds the way you'd want it.

I have a Flowmaster Super 40 and a 12" turndown right after the muffler. You can get the turndown at Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone. It sounds awesome.

You wouldn't happen to have any way to get a recording of that, would you Brandon?

I was always interested in the Super 40's but couldn't find any sound clips of one with a 3.9L engine.

Nah, it's a 2 1/2" in/ 2 1/2" out muffler...the turndown goes from 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" at the exit I believe. Lemme find ya a pic and you'll see what I mean. It might be 3" but the guy at the shop (lil family-owned shop full of rednecks, but they are one of the best quality shops around...and they're the cheapest) said it was a 3 1/2". I haven't measured, but it's definitely pretty big...lol

That's a pic of my turndown.

I just got a flow master 40 series muffler put on mine with dual outlets coming out in front of the passenger tire. It makes for a real custom look and sounds pretty good considering it is a V6 and all. I have pics just give me your email and i will send them.
