After putting in my v8 throttle body it idles at around 1000RPM, is there a way to adjust the idle or does it adjust it on it's own?

I think this causes everyones idle to go up with the bigger TB swap. First adjust the TPS to its optimum position. Directions here: http://www.v8performance.com/tipsandtricks.htm#TPS_Mod

Then after that, you can try adjusting the idle screw(or whatever its called). Not sure though if you will have that if it is an aftermarket TB. What kind of TB do you have? Factory V8 or aftermarket?

It will still probably idle higher than before the TB swap, but no big deal. Mine idles around 900 I believe.

It's a V8 one out of the same year truck but from a 1500. I noticed a screw that stoped the plates, but there was a cap on it like it was tamperproof. I'll try take that cap off.

just use a 3/8 drill to drill it out. but the only thing that that screw does is allow adjustment to keep the plates from binding in the bores. after i bore one, i have to adjust it some, but on a stock tb, it will have no adjustment. your IAC (idle air control) valve on the back of the tb is what controls your idle. try cleaning that and also clean the mating surface inside the tb.
