Subject: Ehaust manifold bolt broke
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi,
I found the leak. The passenger side front manifold bolt head was gone.
I bought it used and had one day left on the warranty and they fixed it.
They had to drill and replace 4 studs?
Is this going to happen to the drivers side?
I looked at the bolt heads there and they look like they are flaking apart.
Is this a problem on anyone elses?

I heard this happening to few other folks and on the passenger side. I installed JBA headers so I guess I won't have this problem.

same thing happened to my 97 dak.. second bolt in on the passenger side broke..
the factory torqued them too tight and that causes alot of them to break..
just something else stupid that dodge did..

My 2 Cents.

I had a broken one on my 94 3.9 it was the last one on the driver side. I fixed it when I put my headers on. I used a Heli coil kit it tells you the drill size and how to do it.

Jon, I have the same problem on my '94 3.9
2 studs broken off on each side and I can hear the noise every time I step on the gas.
I suppose any muffler shop can take care of the problem...right.
What do they do...torch 'em out or drill and ez-out?
