GB2000, how did you get the 10" Edelbrock air filter to fit on ur TB??? Did it require any modifications and does it seal all the way? Looks cool though. Also, what did you do with that tube that run into the air hat?
Thanks

P.S.- I don't want to take ur idea, i want to do something similar to it.

no modifications needed as the throttle body has the same flange as a carburetor.

i had one on mine also.

What Intense said...

It's not my original idea...feel free to use it. Lots of people have done it.

The filter size you should use is actually a tad smaller in diameter than that page says (you really have to squeeze one exactly 10" in diameter in there). And as long as you buy an Edelbrock air cleaner, it has a place on the bottom to attach your breather tube. You may have to shorten it though (I just moved it a little and it works fine without having to shorten it).

Thanks ya'll. Today is paycheck Friday so I am going to do it tonight!!! But, I'm going to get one of those K&N filter tops instead of the chrome top that way I get even more air!!! I'm excited, from what the website says, it even makes the truck sound better... is that true?

you should be able to hear more of the engine roar/moan when you open it up. the stock system quiets that down to almost nothing.. your exhaust will sound the same as it did.

I have the 10" edelbrock airhat with a k&N filter on my mostly stock 95 V6. I have noticed better throttle response.

I have also noticed that it gets dirtier quicker than the stock paper filter in the enclosed air hat. I think it's due to a combintion of catching more crud and being exposed more.

With it being winter, on cold days you're gonna hear a loud hiss on a cold start that'll last for a few seconds to a good 10+ minutes...it's kind of annoying, but you'll get used to it after a bit. Don't go thinking you've got a bad vacuum leak or anything...it's just because your IAC is open and you don't have the ribbed stock tubing silencing it.

You are saying the K&N filter top was $80 and not the one that came with it, right...cuz I only paid $20. $80 is a freakin rip though! Shop around...maybe you can find the same thing without the K&N name for cheaper. Oh shoot, you realize if you buy a different top, you'll have to buy a different style filter too, right? Or does that $80 include a filter?

The $80 was just a top(much like the crome top with Edelbrock on it) that is a filter. It looked like it was a bigger 14" or somethng though. I tihnk i might take a second look because $80 for a filter top seems pricey. The Edelbrock assembly cost me $26.50
