ANyone have any specs on what a 98 Dodge Dakota Sport V6 Mag, 3.9, 5 speed might get on the 1/4 mile or on anything else. Just wanting to know how fast these mags will run???

Yup...my '97 ran a 17.4 (almost 100% stock) back in mid 1997 at Sears Point Raceway.
It varies on make/model/weight but the average is from a 16.8-17.8. (Sport RegCab - QuadCab 4x4)

i think the guy i bought it off of said that he ran it 17.1 completely stock i ran it a few weeks ago and ran a 16.3@79 thats with cold air intake, TB spacer, under drive pulleys, and exhaust i have a 97' sport regular cab....also know as the black dak : )

hey bernd don't the model years change the times also? I heard 97-99s were slower then 2000s and 2001-02 were the fastest I think.
am I wrong?

It varies on the tune of the engine (sensors, PCM, transmission type, options, etc). You can take two identical trucks and run them down the track...one will always be faster than the other.
But yes...i've also noticed that the 2001+ models seem to be quicker. (Heheheh..and that's with PreCats installed!) ;)

Yes they do, Shaker and suncoast creations have ram air hoods for the dak that are functional as far as i know. i dont remember link for the shaker but suncoast is http://www.suncoastcreations.com/2001/hoods_trucks_97-up_dakota.htm

The GTS Hood is a true Ram-Air hood (Premiere-Automotive). It's been tested and was showing a .28# boost at 90mph (mathematical .30-.31# at 100mph). That's better than a large majority of those other Ram Air hoods.
The most direct path to the TB will give you the most gain from the "Ram" effect. Keep in mind that they are ONLY "Cold Air Induction" and the ram effect doesn't take effect until 90mph+.

very well put Blackdak! but some gen II can be "pimped" out pretty good.
and bernd if they dont work until 90 then i dont think i want one anymore. i know a guy that made a ram air for a 92 sonoma and it runs a lil faster than me. he said it helped him out alot and i only raced him up till we reached 95. i like they way the ram air hoods look(some of them) but if they dont work until 90 then i will get a cowl induction hood cause those are cool too!!
