Was just wondering if a jet stage 1 will be worth the money. I don't want to change my thermo. or start running premium fuel, so will the stage 1 give a noticeable gain?

well i have the jet stage 2 and i cant really tell to much difference, only when i use sunoco's 94 octane gas (still not alot of difference). but i would just get and IAT adjuster from www.speedtweaks.net and save some money. why dont you want to change you thermostat?

I have the stage 1 chip in my 94 3.9 not much difference with or with out it. I wish I would have gotten the stage 2. But I don't think I will. I have the 185 T-stat in all ready my gas mileage went from 19mpg to 16mpg this winter. Im going to keep it in and see how it does when warm weather gets here.

hey guys thanks for the input.
I didn't want to change the thermostat b/c I don't really know what I'm doing and don't want to screw up my truck, but I may try it anyways.
Dakota Bob, the 185 thermostat hurt your gas mileage?
I will probably get the stage 2 or IAT but I just have a drop in K&N w/ exhaust, no cold air intake. Would a stage 2 work w/just the K&N filter?

The stage 2 will work with what you got but they say you need a free flowing exhaust. My mileage came up this past week with the warm weather I got 21mpg now the flex-a-lite electric fan has helped on that too.

stage 2 adds milage...I think. not really extreme power difference but 100mph seems more reachable...although I'm not sure about that.
I'm not disapointed with jet, but I expected a lot more. maybe headers will help...

would running a stage 2 without the 185 t-stat do damage, or just have less noticeable gains?
I have magnaflow exhaust and may invest in an intake or IAT. I might be disappointed in the jet if I spent well over $200 on it and didn't see much gain

i would try the venom 400 it runs for $350 at truckperformance.com i am going to get one when i save a lil more money but proably wont be until the end of this month or next month. i will post a thread when i get it to tell others if it works.
and a plus for it(for me anyways) is you can turn it off and on(off sets it back to reuglar comp. modes) it says it will lower your mpg 2-3 with it on and will improve shift times in autos. give it a look at truckperformance.com.

N8Dawg I talked to the guy at truck performance about the Venom 400. I asked him about that and the stage 2 chip I have a stage 1 chip I thought about getting the venom 400 He told me I wouldn't see that much difference in it.He has been pretty honest with me, he could have made a sale and basicaly talked me out of buying it. Talk to them about it before you buy this. Im thinking about going with the mopar performance computer. Im going to contact Mopar Performance they have the computer for $295.

Called about the Mopar performance computer they only make it for 91 and 92 out of luck for that price.

I don't know if it will work on a 99. This was the only choice I had for a generation 2 dakota they don't make a FIPK for a 94 that is what I wanted to begin with and I didn't want to put on a home brew on it.
