Man I wish they would...I'd totally go for one. Right now I'm looking into a Vortech S/C kit...but it's gonna be a while before I can work up that kind of cash.

I hold similar beliefs to Larry and some of the other die-hard V6 guys...almost everyone starts with a V8 and builds off of that, but very few people have highly modified V6 Daks...and those that do can kick some serious ass with em. Plus it feels even better telling the driver of the V8 you just destroyed that you got a 3.9L V6.

Squiers Turbo systems

You can put a 318 s/c system right on the 3.9
see if they list for 5.2

I have instaled a few 318 systems on the 3.9 just
be sure you have headers high flow cat and low
restriction cat back

the 3.9 will handle 6psi boost very well and still
be reliable

Dak49 had setup his own turbo system using
only 1 side of the exhaust

The main thing here is you need a boost control
and an exsilery pump to raise fuel pressure
when it comes under boost or you will melt the
pistons

if you do this a good dyno shop is what you need

Fed you will have to let us know how it works out
I have thought about a turbo on my truck many
times but just never did it

You will also need a good blow off valve there
are some real nice adjustible ones on the market
now makes tunning easier
(keep that baby spulled up)

Sorrie intensedak39 I remember the truck but
got the name wrong you used 1 side and it worked.

I hear the new ceramic bearing units will really
take the heat without gernading

I can still remember the first turbo car I ever
was in a 1963 chevy impala with a 283 it was
the coolest thing back in the 70's blasting down
the free way in milwaukee sounding like the bat
mobile did on TV and just cranking that old
chevy, than the throttle cable fell off we
coasted off the free way and pulled into gorge web
got a couple coffee's fixed it.

Those were the good old days

haha i will definately update you!!
now ive changed my mind about the remote turbo set up like the STS. I have a friend thats going to fab me up a turbo manifold on the passenger side and then have the JBA header on the driver side crossover to that turbomanifold... gonna be interesting!! Larry, i got a turbo, wastegate, and blowoff valve this weekend! :D next is an FMU, extra fuel and oil pump, msd btm, and a check valve..

i didnt use one side, i had both sides collect right before going into the turbo. i built a header for the passenger side and had it facing forward. on the opposite side, i had a jba header going into the stock y. from there i cut the y and had it go up the passenger side, meeting the header.

it was all very crued, but it worked pretty damn well. i was 20 years old with no budget and working out of an apartment.

i dont know about power levels but raced a few modified cars and beat them. it probably ran in the low 13's untuned and with a 3.55 geared one wheel peel. at least it felt faster than my mid 13's nitrous runs of the past.

I have been contemplating a remote set up for a while...The most unattainable item IMHO is the oil pump to feed/return from the turbo. i found this link...

sorrie again intensedak39 from the pics it just
looked like 1 side

low 13's that is abot 3 secs faster than stock
right now my truck with the 200/210 .460 cam
will do no better than 15 secs dynoed at 228/288

If your doing low 13's I would say you had to be
right around 300hp my 3.58 stroked motor did 14,4
the 4" stroked motor at 309hp would do 13.3 13.4
so you have to be 300hp rear wheel but i was
running 3.91 and 4.10 with the 4" motor because
there was no such thing as low end on that motor
under 2000 it was usless around 2500 it picked up
nice

Just think intense if you would have dyno tuned
that truck it would have probably droped into the
12's now thats cranking for a dak
