Subject: Another Exhaust Question!!!

Message:
I figured it would make more sense to have it posted here then in the General Board....

I have a 2003 Quad Cab with a 3.9L V6 stuffed in it. I was wondering how good my truck would sound with a dual exhaust at idle and going through the rpms after my single inlet / exit Flowmaster muffler. I would obviously have to have a y-pipe after the muffler but then the pipes would be exiting just after the rear doors and just in front of the rear tires. Thanks for advance. Any sound clips would be great also.

it was too loud inside the truck for me. i have a flowmaster delta flow 40 series single 3" in/ dual 2.5" out and i had it coming out infront of the rear tire just under the back door. it sounded great but it was too loud inside the truck. so loud that it drowned out my radio and it was hard to cary on a conversation. i switched to duals out the back.

daveshotdako did it drone inside the cab at one certain RPM or was it the hole time? and at what RPM if you can remember did it get to sound like a ricer? I know for my truck I replaced the muffler itself with a Flowmaster Super 40 and it drones at 1600rpm and again about 2100rpm. Thanks for your help.

Larry,
would 2 1/2 be better for a non stroked motor?

Larry,
Have you noticed any difference with the new slighty larger diameter exhaust.

92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.
