Subject: Who has Accel?

I was looking at the super tune up kit from accel. Is it worth the money? I know I need new plugs because I have never changed them and it has been an mbracing 78,000 miles, but do I need the wires and cap also? Also has anyone installed this mod before, and is there going to be a noticable difference in performance, mileage, etc... Thanks for the info.

I got the Accel tune-up kit for my 94.
I am not pleased with Accel.
First, the kit came with the wrong rotor button.
Jeg's was great, as they gave me $5 credit since I had to buy the button locally.
Then I had a plug wire to separate from the metal terminal that connects to the plug. Jeg's called Accel to have them send me just the one wire. Accell didn't know the length of the #1 wire, so I had to measure and tell Jeg's.
I got the wire this Sat in the mail. But it is the wrong one. Correct length, just a different type of wire.

I also bought the Accell ignition coil. No problems yet, but many on this board have had them fail.

So, no more Accel for me.

I installed the kit on my 98 v6, without the distributor cap. Put the plugs and wires on, and they seem to be alright. Think I'll just go to napa next time though. supposedly autoloites are the best plugs out there.

How deep can that pond possibly be?

I have accel 8.8mm ferro spiral core wires, they work wonderful. also have cap and rotor and coil. I have had no problems and it is smooth to drive and at idle. buy the v8 set they are cheaper to buy and you'll need one of those exrta wires to get to the coil.
