i just changed the motor in this truck
the old motor ran but smoked like hell.
the new(used) motor will now fire run for 10-30 seconds and quit
if i bypass the fuel pump relay it runs fine although it seems a little rich
i have triple checked all connections and verified all grounds are connected
any ideas?

sounds like the relay needs replaced, i had a rodeo that did the same thing, after the relay heated up it shut off the pump, replaced it and it has been working ever since.
