Subject: can't locate wrench

I was adjusting my distributor sync today and as I was tightening the hold-down bolt, the wrench slipped out and fell down into the abyss. This happened to me before and I went under the truck and found it on the top of the tranny within seconds. This time around I spent an hour under the truck feeling around everywhere I could possibly reach, couldn't find it. I looked from above at every angle and couldn't see it. I poked around with a magnet wand. I drove back and forth and slammed on the brakes, nothing. I went forward and reverse over speed bumps repeatedly, it didn't come out. I'm pretty pissed about this, it's unbelievable. It seems to have been sucked up into another dimension. Does anyone have any suggestions that I didn't try? (I already tried shouting obscenities)

Did you check all the heat shields or in the frame by the oil pan? I lost a socket about a year ago...I gave up looking for, and it mysteriously showed up/fell out about a week ago when I was cleaning the engine compartment. Don't know where it was, but it came back home!

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.
