I've got a 2002 dakota sport 2wd with manual transmission. What weight oil should I use and how many quarts for when changing the oil in:

-rear differential with anti slip
-transmission

Also there are many types of permatex. What kind should I use when sealing back up. Should i put a bead on and let it sit a little while before putting the cover back on or should I put some on and then put cover on right away and let that sit before putting oil in? Just doing some preventitive maintenance and changing oils is probly the cheapest and easiest preventitive measure.

can i get the oil for the tranny at a parts store? I'd rather not get it at the dealer cause they try and talk you into getting the service done there and try and make you look like an a$$. Do you remember what viscosity for the diff and tranny? thanks

I agree with "all the info". This would be a good time for you to learn self-reliance.
