for the 2001 3.9l dakota what would be recomended? i was comparing the superchips, the jet module and the venom 400. the venom seems to be the best adding 25% more horsepower but i have never heard of them. i like the superships because i can adjust for the tires and gears but also the jet 2 module i have heard a lot of good things about. any recomendations?

JET will give you more horsepower, but has no tuning options. Superchips is a little less hp, but with a wider range of tuning. Venom has been making modules and nitrous for imports for a few years, and they work well. They must have just started making modules for dakotas. It's your call, man. Remember, if you go with any of these, you should go to 93 octane in order to see a big improvement.

Never read anything on the Venom, but the Jet chip (Stage 2) I've heard doesn't give huge gains and it's the equivalent of doing the IAT relocation and CPS mod (both being extremely cheap mods). I'd imagine the Venom chip is similar, but like I've said, I've never read up on it and never heard any testimonials.

And Superchips seems to give the biggest gains (when using the Performance program)...plus you can tune various things AND read/clear codes. I personally would suggest the Superchips tuner...just read the testimonials on this site...I've seen very few people unhappy with the results. The only drawback is if it needs to be sent back and programmed for your truck...a slight PIA but most believe it was worth it in the end.
