Two things,

1. Will the 3923's and 180 t-stat make my 98 3.9 fail emissions?

2. The v-8 throttle body switch is a straight up swap with little modification (other than perhaps a linkage) ie. just a gasket/tools and time.

1. I don't know about the spark plugs, but the 180 t-stat might(factory is 195+ for emission purposes), but i don't have emissions in my county so i couldn't tell you if it affects them enough.
2. The throttle body swap is VERY simple. 4 torq type bolts on throttle body itself, your 3 sensors(TPS, IAC, MAP), the linkage may need to be modified(what I did) or you may want to replace the cable($35 factory) depending on the connection point.

huh?

What country are you in, Bangladesh? The TStat won't bother the emissions at all.

The TBody is held on with regular hex bolts not TORX bolts. All you need for the swap is the V8 throttle cable. Get a new base gasket too.

huh?, the 180 tstat could make some cars fail emissions, due to the engine not reaching peak operating temperatures (some cars rely heavily on the coolant temp sensor for metering fuel to the engine, and could make the vehicle run too rich if it reads below normal temperatures). Running too rich could lead to increased hydrocarbon and NOx emissions, and thus, failure of emissions testing.

Well @sshole, MY throttle body IS attached by 4 TORX, NOT hexhead(i was going by what i have worked on. As far as i can tell ALL 97's were AND i have worked on a 95, 96, and 98, and they were as well.) If they changed the hardware on the newer models I didn't know.

I said COUNTY not COUNTRY sh1t-for-brains. Learn how to read completely before you post

Doug, my TB is held on by heaxhead bolts, so you are wrong about all having torx bolts, and yes they are factory parts, so calm the f%$# down.

I was just pissed(f#cked up day!) off because he was trying to tell my TB wasn't held on by torx. I got over it. I based my comments off of lessions learned and personnal experience of working on numerous other daks. I can't help that dodge engineers can't make up their minds about what hardware to use:)

So all you need for the throttle body swap is the throttle body itself, a gasket, and the throttle cable off of the V8?
Also, does anyone know about how much it will cost to buy a V8 throttle body off of a junkyard truck?

I had emissions done last september at inspection and at the time was running the 180 tstat, 3923's, crank sensor mod, and flow 50 exhaust and passed with flying colors! Speaking of throttle body bolts (or whatever the heck you want to call them) what should they be torqued at when i put my TB back on. I want to clean all the black gunk out of mine and put a new gasket on. thanks

ccman-
The bolts on the throttle body should be torqued down to 200 INCH pounds.
