What are the best mods to get in preparation for a turbo?

I was thinking 1.7 rr and flowmetrics TB
what kind of gains would you get out of these mods? more or less then intake and/or exhaust?

is it really hard to install roller rockers(i know intense said it wasn't that hard but i think he really knows his way around an engine.

also maybe msd but i was wondering if bernd and tom are gonna have that(or something like it) included with the turbo kits

It shouldn't be that hard to install roller rockers. I don't really know much about engines, but from what I have seen it's not hard.

From all of your posts that I've read on this site, YOU probably won't even notice any difference by installing the 50mm TB and the roller rockers.

I wouldn't waste your time. Just wait til the turbo kit comes out. And while you are waiting on that, keep whining some more. We all think it's great.

Hey Greg, y'all comin' to the shop tomorrow?

(BTW: 1.7:1 Rollers and a 50mm TB will gain you about 20RWHP on a 5.2/5.9L. V6 use a 48mm TB and the 1.7's for about 15-18RWHP.)

yeah my problem is that I doubt I will be able to afford the turbo kit and i figure i might as well make my truck a bit faster now whether I can afford turbo or not.

hypothetically how much hp would u gain by switching from airaid to K&N with a 48 mm TB? is it worth it to sell my airaid or does the 48 mm work fine with the modified stock airhat?

You'll gain about 8-10HP at most. The TB you've got works very well though.

hey bernd would you recommend getting a 48 mm if/when i get turbo? will if add 20 hp like it did with the supercharger? also, about the turbo will it add any low end power? because i was thinking that if it doesn't and it turbo lags up till 2 or 3000 rpms my 0-60 will be like 8 because it will still take 4 seconds to get to 30(sorry i used 0-60 again). will i feel it right off the line. also, does the fact that i have 4wd mean anything??

LI Blackdak - The turbo will take less than a second to spool up... I wouldn't worry too much about turbo lag... yes, you will get more power below 3000rpm...

oh great. can i get a torque estimate or is that too hard to tell. one more thing. is the only reason turbo adds more power then a supercharger the fact that it is not taxing the engine to get its boost or are there other reasons? because I would think a turbo would just give you the 15-20 more hp that you would lose via the belt on the supercharger. hows that R/T coming. also I know you guys said that it didn't matter but being that you havn't started the V6 prototype yet, why don't you just make it twin turbo, just beacause it sounds better...just a thought...people might be more willing to shell out the money just because of how cool twin turbo sounds. and we could get one of those audi "TT" emblems.

here's a better one bernd... ya remember those "Turbo Intercooled" badges they use to put on the scoop on Shelby's... well the dodge dealership still sells those and that would look pretty sweet on you cowl hood.

oh, that 72 was just a "rough" estimate... he he he

Why get an Audi TT emblem when you could use a Dodge Stealth R/T TT emblem?

If it has emblems, then it's not very "stealth".
