I replaced the speed sensor over the rear differential on Thursday night. What an easy job if the plastic cup didnt break when i was taking it out. I spent about 10 extra minutes getting it out. But when all was said and done, the ABS light, brake light, check engine light and my spedometer works again and my engine doesnt stall any more. Hard to imagine that one sensor does all that but it does. Best $37.00 i ever spent on my truck. Now if i could get my money back from the dealer for putting in a map sensor life would be perfect. Thank you all for your suggestions.

Go to the manager and tell him your story about how you had to go on the internet to get the correct fix.

heh (raises hand)ive done it. They didnt like it either i should say the service manager was transfered a week later after it happened. It was tps causing engine to cut out and sometimes stall when i let off the gas and brake failure (none of it was fixed, i replaced the tps and forced another dealership to fix the brakes)

I also later after never going to this dealership again... Well i was tired and had skeduled the recall repair with another dealership... I went there and it took me a bit to relize where i had taken my baby (all this while i was standing at the counter). I then told the guy at the counter "thats right u basterds dont fix anything" (that one slipped) so he got mad and made me drive my own truck out of the repair booth and shop area!!!

LOL i had my justice after all, just i had to be tired to get it!!!

i went in to the dealer to see what they wanted for a new catconverter. he said $441 and i said screw that i'm going to order it offline for $85. He said well its going to cost you alot to get it installed. I said $30 bucks...i got an estimate day before. they didnt say much after that. But to make a long story short i have fixed my truck with the help of this site numerous times all of which trained professionals knew nothing on how to fix. which brings me to the point that dealership technitions dont know their own a$$ from a hole in the ground.

They do know what they are doing, it's just they have to listen to the service manager squaking at them all the time about labour costs and trying to meet quotas and such, i worked for a nissan dealer as a service writer and the service manager was so uptight he told everybody to try and look for any flaw in the vehicle no matter how small and make it a bigger one. so if the time came to .3 they would try and gouge .5 out of a person and when an estimate was to be done they where using a standard micro fische from vehicles in the 70's and trying to get times off of it.

My truck looks like it was in a knife fight, and lost! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/1275365
