 Subject: air filter kits

I just recently bought an '02 dakota 3.9L. I was wondering if the air filter kits from K&N increase your mpg. I know that they increase hp and air flow. And what is the difference in all the kits, what is the best kit for my app.

I also have an '02 club cab w/V6, and I bought the drop-in K&N filter. That by itself didn't help a great deal, but they say every little bit helps.
I got a pretty good deal on a used throttle body (a Fastman, off this board as a matter of fact)and that helped the "go" a BUNCH, and the mileage picked up a bit, too.
The only other thing that I've done is flush out the dino oil and put Amsoil in it.
Now, I get about 23 on the road, and 18-19 around town.
