Ive got a 2002 Dakota reg cab. Im putting on the flowmaster 40 series. Was wondering how would you support the muffler. Or will it be ok on its own. I was thinking of using the bracket on the old muffler. Cutting off and welding it on the new muffler. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

The existing pipe brackets(one forward and one rear) are plenty strong enough hold the muffler up. I put a flowmaster 40 with a hi-flow cat, and used the existing rubber/steel brackets with no problem(except due to the new muffler being shorter than the old, i had to add an extention). If you don't have the brackets on the pipe, then you "might" want to use your old muffler bracket though.(the flowmoaster is stainless steal and is slightly heavier than the stock)
