I have a 2000 Dakota with the 3.9L engine. The truck is approaching 60,000 miles and I have noticed from time to time that when driving the truck will spit and sputter. I have done numerous bottles of STP Fuel and Gas treatments, but the problem comes back. I will be driving at 70 MPH and the RPM will show I'm running around 2200 RPM and the hand will spike up to 23-2400 RPM and you can feel the truck sputter and sometimes when you go to push the peddle it is real "stiff" feeling and you have to really push it down to accelerate. The spitting and sputtering is much worse if I use the cruise control. Most of the time I can't use it becasue the problem is so aggravating.
Is this a continuing case of bad gas or a sign of something more?

ya think?

are you dumm enough to think that gas that NEVER comes in contact with anything connected to the gas pedal would make the pedal get stiff?
BTW I like your imaginative way of spelling pedal. the way you spell it is like a peddler selling wares off a hand cart.
