The scoop

I let my sister take my truck for the
weekend because her ferd was broke down
again. But when she returned with it
the shift knob(the big black part you use
to put the truck into drive) had been broken off andthe overdrive wires were ripped also.

Is there any way to replace this?

Yikes!!! Mine came off the end of the stick this morning, I worked it back on but it has a big crack down the side. Hmmmm, I don't want to even get into what that might say subliminally about your sister and I. Suffice to say I will be more careful with it in future.

I have a 98 Durango with the same problem, but my shift knob has broke all around the base so now my knob just spins on the shaft.... I'm affraid the wires to the OD off button will soon seperate from the button.

Does any one know of any websites I can buy a replacement knob with an OD button?
daksprt4x4, you said you replaced yours.... Where did you get it?

I thought about that, but now there is nothing left for me to super glue. plus super glue won't stand up to the stress of shfting out of park into drive and back to park....

I was thinking something like this...

Ichibahn Road series

Does anyone know of any online Store that sels replacment knobs with an OD button?

I just got mine replaced. You need to get the whole shift lever, you can't just replace the Knob. I got one from the Dealership for about 50 bucks, I took it too my Shop but they would not do it cause of the Airbags and ClockSpring, the O/D wires have a plug that goes way down the Column. The Dealership did it for 43.00 bucks. YMMV

It's actually for I think the floor shifters.... You know like in an import... I don't know if it would fit the shaft or not....

You need a special switch for the O/D it's a momentary switch. When mine was broken, I googled around for a Knob, all I found was the fireball with an O/D option. I thought it was a little to much for me and it cost about 50 bucks so I just went for a stock replacement.

Hey everyone, I have a 2004 dodge dakota quad cab 4.7 V8.
I've been having issues with it sticking in park so I figured out
to bypass it by removing the shift boot and pushing the release
pin in on the colom. This morning while my truck was warming
up, I just thought I'd try to see if it would go into gear by itself
because it occasionally does, well this time when I pulled the
lever down to try to put it in drive, the lever broke off of the
colom.... how hard is it to replace/fix??? Thanks.

i love pron
