ok i figure superchip to be a way better investment but is it that much better than say a stage 2 jet chip????? a jet chip on ebay can be found for like 50-100 dollars yet a superchip is really expensive. so what should i do?

there's a reason jet chips are cheap, they don't work. go for superchips if anything

racerX,

I take exception with your comments on the jetchip. If you get the right one for your truck it will work. Larry from J and J Auto had his truck dyno-ed with and without the Jet chip, it increased horsepower that peaked at 12hp above stock. This was the stage 2 chip, even more gains can be achieved if use along with a cold air intake, low restriction muffler IE., dynomax, flowmaster 50, and a 180 degree thermostat. The chip will also increase you mileage about 2mpg.

A jeep wagoneer was tested with the Jet Stage 2 chip, 180 deg. thermostat, K and N Air Filter and low restriction muffler-Flowmaster 50. This vehicle was dyno-ed before and after these modifications, horsepower increase by 65rwhp, pretty impressive don't you think.

Larry from J and J Auto also has a 2003 Ram with the Hemi he added dual exhaust, running the Jet chip, K and N air filter and 180 deg. Thermostat he saw a 69 hp increase, all dyno prov-en. The chips do work if you get the right one for your truck and you use them as prescribed.

92 and 97 Daks both with many mods.

Isn't it kind of hard to determine the gains with the chip when you do all of those mods and the chip at the same time? If he had done all the mods, dynoed it, then added the chip and dynoed it again, it would have had some meaning.

It seems that one of the major differences between the two is that the SC removes the stock program and installs a completely different one. The JC seems to simply alter the existing program or modify the sensor input data.

jet stage 2 was worth .1 in the 1/8 on my v6.. but it wasnt a stock motor with it added.

however, the superchips will have similar power results, but i'd pick it because it's got different levels, can be turned off when not wanted and make changes for tire size, speed limiter and rev limiter changes.
