Use a 1/4 pipe plug.

Leaving it in is also a good idea. It allows you to switch back and forth. This is especially handy for vehicles that reside in colder parts of the country. It's also nice when you just don't feel like burning extra fuel.

Advanced Auto has a 1/4" plug I think it was called a PVT plug or something like that. I'm sure all auto stores have them. Fits perfectly. Look at past IAT posts.

You can get the plug at any hardware store for about 29 cents.

put a piece of duct tape over the connector if you're worried, i don't
see how anything is going to get in there, but who knows, maybe
the contacts could corrode
