Ok, I realize paint is an issue for Chrysler and I have read many stories about people taking them to small claims court, or even just getting them to come look at it, and some have gotten it repainted. I was curiosu is they ever admitted to the problem, or if there is a way to get it painted. I heard they give many excuses such as "You drove behind a salt truck." and other corny ones but they to tell you where you drive?

I dno just curious to hear form anyone else who experienced a similar problem.

The problem with alot of the new paints is that they are using water based enamel paint instead of petroleum base enamels. They just don't hold up as well as the older enamels. I think part of this was mandated by the EPA to make the industry more friendly to the environment.

I was just curious because there have been people use small claims courts to get chrysler to cover it, because the primer is bad so if I get it repainted it would cost tons because theyd have to take it down to bare metal then repprime and paint it.

You could try to recover the expense but as old as your truck is it would probably be rejected. If your truck was 5 years old or less then you would have a better chance.

yeah, my objective isnt to really do it unless someone else has done it with an older truck like mine, most people did get it done when the problem became visible, my grandpa owned the truck at the time and didnt care. So it got nasty, now I bought it off him and it is too late to fix it.

I was just curious about other peoples stories/views on it, I mean it isnt worth it to me to pay thousands to get it stripped to metal and reprimed and painted. It will just look like crap.
