I have a 1999 cc 3.9L auto. I want to change the cam and was wondering if I would have to remove the engine to put in the new cam or will it be possible to install it with out removing the engine? Thanks

don't need to remove the engine but here is what you will need to remove:

fan/shroud
radiator
condensor
altenator/bracket/ac
waterpump
timing cover/chain
airbox assembly
valve covers
loosen rockers
pushrods/lifters
intake manifold
fuel injector rail
and camshaft

all in in all pretty easy! ;)

Who makes a performance cam for the Gen III trucks that's a reasonable price? Last I heard someone looked into it and it was like $1800 for a custom grind V6 cam.
