when i look through motortrend and consummer reports i see that all the I4 hondas, I4 toyotas and minivans have 0-60s between 7 and 10 seconds.

if I were to race an auto 4 cyl accord or camry, or a crappy minivan with my v6 cc 4x4, would i actually lose? because my 0-60 is barely under 11 at best. I tried to race a tarus once and i was ahead until like 80 and then i got passed(no top end errr) but i beat it off the line. can these weak ricers really take me out(civics???? :-( )

The power-weight ratio on a 'weak' Honda is a lot better than on your truck. :0) I mean, let's face it, two reasonably in shape guys can pick up either end of a Honda. I've yet to see that with a Dakota.

Yeah, you guys have to watch out for sleepers nowadays, its not hard to make a sleeper out of a Civic because so many damn parts are made for the little cockarochees.

Last fall out our local 1/8'er a little red (about mid 90's) Civic came in and pulled off a very noisy 9.2, then he had all the boys wanting some of him so he ended up picking a match race with a mid 90's Cobra that sounded like a pro stocker, I heard the Cobra had a stroked engine and some goodies,.
So anyway they pulled up and the Cobra pulled him a little off the lite then that Civic marched around hime bout half track!!!
Went on to a 8 second flat run!!
This car was drivin in also.
I think they wagered 50.

Lesson here, take no car for granted, especially when monies on the line!!!

No LlBlackdak I don't think a 4x4 can take one. We have a 98 honda accord, I4 vetec, 5 speed. It can be pretty fast for a ricer(depnding on who is drving:). camery and accord are at the top of their class. You might be able to take a nissan altama thought(not the new ones).

You know, I really don't understand this guy. It seems like all he does is complain about how slow his truck is. You know what, man, I got news. It is a truck. It was never intended to be a dragster. For the same amount of money, you could have gotten a Civic, Accord, or Camry. You know, a car that is lighter and more aerodynamic than a truck and was designed to go reasonably fast. I really have no pity for you, and am sick of your whining. I bought a 4x4 truck because I needed a 4x4 truck, not because of its 0-60 times. If you bought a truck for the latter reason, it was your decision, not ours. If you don't like the truck, you are only person in a position to do anything about it. Until you do, quit annoying us with your insipid banter.
