Subject: IAT Adjuster????
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm looking over old posts and see threads about the IAT Adjuster offered for sale, then offering plans to build one, and I can't find anything recent on the subject. I'm an engineer, so building one should not be a problem if I knew what parts to purchase. Is this mod "old news" and there is something better now?

Thanks

There are many post that will tell the details. Depending on what you want from it, a 100k pot will work fine and give you plenty of range.

I built my own...

I removed it after less then a year since the power i gained wasnt worth the effort. I left it reading my relocated sensor most of the time anyways since i wasnt willing to duck down and adjust it at every light for best performance

You can build one

But you need to calibrate it with either a good
digital meter or scanner so you know where your
setting the temp

readings below 50 degree like to trip voltage
code for sensor high volts

All parts can be bought from radio shack around $10 including the box

I have 2 IAT (1) in bottom of air cleaner with
my ram air it reads 90 to 100 when crusing over
50 for a while it will cool to within 10 degrees
off from outside temp

(2) org intake location below 30 to 40 degrees
I cant run the external sensor

I just switch between them right in the cab the
cooler sensor in the warm weather works great

I can get you the part #s if you want to build
one I think the duel sensors is a better way to
go.

Find a place for the second with a digatal indoor
out door thermo you can put the outdoor probe
in diff locations to see how it would read find
a spot where it will pickup just a little engine
temp

Where it will heat up at idle slow driving but
cool down when driving around 45 50 this will
keep your gas mileage up

The cooler IAT will advance timimg and add fuel
give it time to tune into the cooler readings
200 miles it should run good
