I have a 93 3.9l 4x4, trans will work for about 300 to 400 feet then quit. when the trans went out the truck was hot been runing for about 45 mins. White color smoke was coming out of the tail pipe. No water in engine oil or loss of anti-freeze. Is their something that will draw the trans fuild into the engine? what can i do to correct. I did use cheap fluid to refill trans.

dakota trannys, the A500 or otherwise, react badly to cheap fluids, but i dont think that would mess it up that much.
i think its just time for a new tranny
