You can get one from a junk yard. I tried having someone get me one but they were unsuccessful because the junkyards are realizing these are popular pieces and starting to jack up the price close to new. Make sure you get a V8 TB cable too. Have fun.

listen to cbsdakota, he knows your pain.
I was the one trying to get him a TB and the local junk yard (which I have bought a couple of V8 TB's from) really went LD on me and then they did a parts search and found them at another junk yard and saw what there charging and now I fear I wont be able to get em from them for 70 any more!!!
I dont know what brand new ones are but the other junk yards want 150 for em!!!
Good luck and to tell you all I am still on a list for them from that j/y I have delt with and I will either sell em at cost or I will put the same magic on em I did on mine for an extra charge.
cbs, I am still gonnna email you if they have any anytime soon, I still feel real bad for not being able to come thru for you.

Im looken into a swap for my v6 to a v8 TB. If i find one does it just bolt on and replace the cable or do i have to grind it (TB or intake manifold?).

Pro's: More useable power...simple "Bolt-On"
Cons: Requires V8 cable (unless you modify the existing linkage)...otherwise, none.
No drop in MPG unless you're on the go-pedal more often (heavier foot).

I did a home-port of my V6 TB... but I'd like to go to a V8 TB eventually. I really think it would help, the V6 porting did wonders! Of course, now it's looking like I'm going to purchase a used Dakota Extended cab when I graduate and get a job, as a project. I figure I'll end up putting 20k, total (with truck cost) into it. Fun Fun Fun! :0)
So I'm likely done modding this one, except for a Flowmaster. I think I need that, and it's cheap.

I posted on all the boards that I was looking for one, ended up with a barely used TB off an RT for $70. Best mod for the money yet. I ordered a cable which didn't come in, so I bought one from the dealership - $56 Can. Of course, the ordered one showed up over a month late! If anyone needs one, I will sell it for what I paid for it... $22 US.

If you don't buy Dodge Dakota's TB, here is where I found mine from a yard Georgia for $45.00 plus shipping. It included all the sensors and was off a Van which had the same throttle hookup as the V6. It needed cleaned but was in great shape. The local yards here think the TB's are gold plated or something,the cheapest was $70.

Get a 93-94 off any V8 and you wont have to do any of the stuff these guys talk about (cable, modify the linkage, etc...)

If anyone is interested I have a TB off a 1999 Dodge 318. It fit on my 98 dakota. I t has already been set up for the v6 so all you gotta do is bolt it on. All sensors included. i swapped my throttle body on my 93 v6 to the v8 and i didnt even need a cable. i think the year i got was either 93 or 94. check august pohl if you have one around there, i got mine for 40 with all the sensors. it just needed a little cleaning, but works great, big difference, just remember to reset your computer then drive about 50 miles. good luck ed
