that is due to fluid leaking down out of the converter and seeking a level with the cooler and pan. there is a checkball in the cooler line that is supposed to keep that from occuring, but having sat so long, it is probably going to be normal. i would not worry about it, it is not a sign of bad things, just be patient and you will be ok.

i have the exact same truck

2000 3.9L V6 Auto 2X4 (Quad Cab)

Sometimes the truck doesnt shift right after i havnt used it for a little while (only 2 weeks though). It usually happens right after i start it up and put it into reverse. It goes into Nuetral and stays until I put it back in park and do it again. Sometimes it happens three tiems in a row and it scares the piss outta me, but it still hasnt failed. I think its just missin gears, and nothing is wrong. It doesnt happen often so It's not that big of a problem for me yet. Well, tahts my story, i dunno what others think. Hopefully the tranny holds up for both of us, cuz i love this truck.
