Subject: Edelbrock Air Cleaner Mounting ????
IP: Logged

Message:
I just bought Edelbrock's 10" air cleaner and i was wondering if I had to go out and buy a plastic seal for mounting the air cleaner and the TB together. Or do i just bolt it right on metal to metal? Will it hurt anything if I just mount it metal to metal?

That's right, there should be a rubber gasket. You should inspect it for leaks / gaps / wear though.

Everything you need to make the air cleaner work comes with it. You will need to make an S-Bolt but that is really easy. There is a whisle sound right when you start it up but that is all, so dont worry about it. I went and got a 2 foot replacement hose from NAPA so the breather hose would not be by the throttle stuff. If you have any questions about the S-Bolt just ask. hope this helps.

That loud whistle/hiss is normal. It's your IAC wide open. On really cold days it'll hiss for a good 5 minutes or so.
