99 2WD V6 3.9 - having problems shifting from 2-3 when tranny (automatic) is cold. Any ideas what this could be? After it reaches normal operating temp, it shifts fine.

Thanks

they have a protection devise on them so you dont wreck the tranny when it's cold. it's in the owners manual

A automatic tranny is supposed to shift through all of it's gears when it's cold and not rev at high RPMs before it shifts. It may have a protection device, but I don't think that's where the problem is.

Have you tried having the fluid changed and tranny flushed with some sea foam or something of the sort...?
