Get the CAM and then get 1.6 RR's, Makes a very nice improvement. You will feel the difference.

i'd say if you dont feel like doing the work for the cam then a decent upgrade is the 1.7's. both will make an improvement, but the cam will improve more.

JFH comes across like a real dumazz
" get 1.6 RR's,"
ALL the magnum 6 and 8 cylinder engines come with them!

Actually, they don't. The stock 1.6 rockers on the magnum engines are not rollers. So there will be an improvment switching to the rollers.

The stock truck does not come with rollers, if you get a cam you can't get the 1.7's without a lot of other internal mods. The 1.6's with the cam are a great buy. Read up on your truck before flameing someone. It will do you good.

Cheapest would be just getting 1.7 rr's
Best performance would be getting a cam and 1.6 rr's
If you can only spend so much, get the cam and then add the rr's in the future

I have stock pushrods with an aftermarket CAM and the 1.6 rr's. I really like the mod, my suggestion would be to get the cam, install is not cheap if you can't do it. Later when you have more cash, get the 1.6 rr's I rev mine to 5500 RPM easily and have no motor problems.

Not sure about the install, I do my own work. Prices are on www.hughesengines.com for the cams, it will depend on if you want a regrind or a new one.

I did it it with the rr's so yours will be less, but it was a very noticeable difference.

My best 1/4 time is 14.89@93mph but I have a light Gen II and lots of mods.
