Will the Flowmaster Super 40 Series muffler work on my 2003 V6? And will it give me that deep exhaust tone? Thanks for the help.

Yes it sounds really good and will give you noticable HP gains. When you hit high rpm's you will notice the extra push.

it should sound pretty good. it'll sound alright at higher rpms, just a higher pitched sound, anyone who knows about car sounds could tell it was a six cylinder. what kind of pipes you plan on running? duals or just a single?

I have a 40 series delta flow, and many people have mistaken it for a V8 (at idle). At higher RPMs it will get ricey. I have duals though. I like them a lot and don't have any complaints.

I have a 2003 V6 with a Flowmaster 40 Series with dual outlets and i love the sound of it, sounds just like the others were saying, like a V8 at idle and then gets a little higher pitched as it gets into the higher RPM range but even at the higher RPM's it still sounds great!

I just want to keep it single 2.5inch pipe. So what muffler will give me the best deep V8 sounding exhaust at idle and higher RPM? The one thing I do not want it to sound like is a ricer at higher rpm. Thank you so far for all of your comments.

you can get the 40 series, it's the loudest, that's what i got and i have stock single piping too. sounds great. get the super 40 or delta flow, if you don't think you'll like to hear cab drone. mine is a regular 40 series and i personally don't think the drone in the cab is that bad, but some people don't like it. im gonna guess that they start to sound noticeabley v6ish at about 3500 rpm's and over, but that's just a guess, i've never payed attention to it much. even though it'll start to sound like a v6, don't let that discourage you, because it sounds like a pretty mean v6, and like said before, it'll sound like a v8 at idle. whatever you get, hope you like it. good luck.

I have a 01 CC 3.9 Dakota and I wanted to put a flow master muffler on my Dakota. I called Flowmaster at there plant the sugested a [50 series SUV] #52557 they said it would give more of a mellow tone and wouldn't be to lowd in the cab I got it at outo zone for $109.00 and put in on myself it really sounds good to me I didn't want anything too loud just nice and mellow. I am quite happy with it. You have to add a 5 inch extention at the front of the muffler I got the 2.5 inlet & 2.5 off center outlet the origianal muffler had a 2.5 ofset inlet They sent me a 2.5 center inlet but it worked out fine. I used the original tailpipe
