I have a 2001 dak sport regular cab 3.9L with the 15x7 5 spoke (not split spoke) wheels. What is the stock tire size for those?

depends, mine came with 215/75/15 with 235/75/15 optional. i went for the 235's

Well, the last dealer I took the truck to put 225 70 15's on the truck. but I read the label on the inside of the door and it said I'm suppose to have 215 75 15's. But I like the 225's, they're a little wider, makes it look nicer.
I have another question, if I get bigger tires on the truck as in diameter, can they fix the speedometer so that it doesn't say I'm going 50 when I'm really going 55?

no, your destined to have a speedometer error. but my truck came stock with 235/75-15's the door sticker says 215/75-15...but my truck came stock with the 235's also if you have a 4x4 good chance yours came with 235's....one way to tell, check your spare tire...the tire is the stock size and your speedo will be correct with those.

hey yeah it is a 215 tire but i have the same rims you have on a 2 wheel drive and i have 255/70r15 tires on them and i have no problems with them

As far as the "Speedo" corrections; If you want to spend the money, purchase a "SuperChips Micro-Programmer" !! I did, and do believe it was well worth the price with the performance gains. There is also a setting for "Tire Size", I through out the stock tires and put 255-60R-15's on mine to fill up the wheelwells and programmed the 'SuperChips' for 28.5" tires, and it re-programmed the Speedo. And with the road construction around here the P.D. have radar set up all over the place, I just told the cop what I did and asked him to clock me. I clocked correctly! LOL

well that might work on some of the trucks, but if i am correct, i think the 89-96 dakotas had a cable driven speedometer, in which case the microtuner will do jack squat. but like i said "if i am correct".. but i think so. i know my 93 has a cable driven speedo.

You may be absolutly right, I wasn't thinking about the older models "My Bad" ! The micro-tuner is for the '98-'03 models. However, I do believe you may be able to get a different "gear" for the cable type. just don't ask me how to figure which one you'd need....
