raced a 99 v6 cougar 2day, held even with him the whole race till we had to stop cause of traffic, up to round 80, i wanna kno if any mods like a throttle body and CAI would actually let me pull ahead a little

if your truck is stock, any mod you do will help performance. put the 5.2 ltr throttle body on it for a budget gain....cost me $40. high flow cat and muffler (do not go true duals), higher performance ignition system..coil.. air intake set up either home brew or k&n fipk. crank sensor mod, tps mod, iat relocation, fms injectors, 1.7 roller rockers, port the intake, headers...the list is endless, it all helps.

BE ADVISED; In Gulf Breeze, Fl. the P.D. is using a highly modified Ford F-250 with hidden lights as a "Ticket Machine" I built the cross-body tool box for the lightbar and mounted it on the truck... this thing is bad!!! and when he hits the lights it's all over... watch your speed !!!

I gew up in Indiana and the Indiana State Police used a wide variety of vehicles to catch speeders.
Tow truck with blue/red light bar instead of a yellow one and the ISP logo on the side of the truck instead of the name of a towing company - used in construction zones.
marked corvette complete with light bar.
unmarked Camaros and mustangs with NOS.
Various marked & unmarked vehicles - lumninas, taurus, tahos, cherokee, caprice, crown vic, Bronco.
I had a friend who was from evansville who said they confiscated an orignal hummer and parked it along high traffic roads with sign saying something to the effect .. Indiana State Police.. you never know what we are diving.
Oh yeah, here in Georgia there is a father of a teen girl who was drag racing his bmw against another girl in a bmw. There was a wreck, some teens died. Not only is the state going after her for racing / causing death, but the father as well saying he knew the brakes were faulty and the tires were bald - a first for georgia.

On Feb. 16, the Gwinnett grand jury indicted Wendy Jennings of Norcross, who was 16 at the time, and Susan Osley of Atlanta, then 17, on charges of vehicular homicide and street racing. Jennings' father, James Christopher Jennings, also was indicted for allegedly allowing his daughter to drive an unsafe car.
