2002 Dakota V6, AT. The transmission solenoid was broken by a limb which resulted in an open circuit. Symptoms while driving were: difficulty shifting (let off gas pedal to shift) in all three gears. No overdrive. Solution: removed solenoid, re-soldered coil wires, epoxyied plastic and replaced. I had to force the OBDII computer to forget the error by unplugging all three connectors for 45 minutes. Transmission shifts fine now. OBDII is located on passengers side fender wall under the hood. Trans., solenoid resistance is appx., 650 ohms. Maybe this will help someone since Dodge decided to locate this solenoid in the path of destruction.
