I am wondering what years are interchangable. I have a 95 dakota with 210,000 mile and am looking for a different motor, and not sure what years were the same.

92 to 95 same

96 to 02 but you need to use the EGR type intake
manifold off your 95 the rest of the motor is the
same

You can also bolt a 318 or 360 right in just add
the #17 & 18 pins to the comp plug for injecters
17 = #7 injecter
18 = #8 injecter and pick up the ground on each
side.

comp pins are numbered as follows

TOP
41--------60
21--------40
1---------20
Bottom

Larry, you can use the V6 computer with a V8 by just adding those two pins? I haven't decided on a V8 or not yet, but I have one of the few V6 perfomance PCM's and it would be nice to be able to convert it to a V8 PCM

One more quick question. After looking around on here it seems that the v8 swap won't work in a 1st gen 4x4. Is this correct?
