well my 1992 3.9L 2wd truck started to have the brake light come on when i put some pressure on my break so came out to lunch and started it up...i smelt somethign burning. The winsow didnt work and the brake lgiht was on. As i was taking off i decided to park it and check my brake fluid. I filled it up because it was relatively low and went on my way home.

Also does anyone have a fuse panel layout for under the dash for a 1992 dodge dakota V6 3.9L 2wd? I dno what fuse 4 is and was just wondering.

WEll I as checking the fuses and fuse number 4 part of a cord came off with it it seemed like it was previously cut not fresh. The light is still on and it doesnt screetch when I stop it just feels like I have to put it on the floor to et it to stop

Don't drive it until you fix the obvious brake fluid leak - for our safety and yours.

Bleed 'em till all the fluid is fresh. When done, Press on the brake pedal with both feet real hard with the motor off to force fluid out any possible leaks - look for leaks. Expecially note the brake line fitting at the calipers on the front axle.

If your brake light came on and it was low on fluid - you have a leak. You need to look harder to verify it. Probably it ingested some air and you will need to bleed the brakes as mentioned above.

I have a 40 amp fuse thats blown. (for AC motor)
The brake light comes on when I put it in reverse or turn on the AC fan motor switch.
Your bad fuse may case the brake light to come on.
Or did you drive w/ the park brake on?
You may have air in your rear brake pistons. Bleed and see.

My brakes are deep but they bite. To the point I lock up the front tires if I have a heavy load when they cross a slick spot like the white lettering on the pavement.

ok, so in the 1500 the drive train lineup is the same as a viper. but does this also mean its relatively close to a dakota? id like to attempt to extend the nose on my 99 dak, and drop a viper v-10 in it.
