Message:
When I gas/rev the motor in park or neutral the engine revs up to 3 grand and hangs there for a a sec. and then gradually comes back down to idle but it takes aout five seconds to come down. I looked around the throttle linkage and on the t/body and nothing seems to be hanging it up. Has anybody had this problem? 98 3.9 auto o/d. thanks

That's normal, that's your AIS motor controlling/reducing emissions.

Revving your motor in Park or Neutral = 0 mpg.

is dodge the only motor that does that? I have had a lot of cars and trucks and never had a surging of the throttle!
