have you thought about just taking the block off plate off the stock cold air intake tube
and a K&N drop in filter

works great for me and saves $$$

thanks but i wanted an actual cold air intake. The person that owned the truck before me took off the stock intake components and just put a cone filter on. I was hoping to find an good cold air intake. I just don't know which one to choose, or where to get it at.

i'd go with a K&N fipk or make your own out of pvc

don't buy one made out of metal it'll heat the air coming in and
defeat the whole purpose of a "cold" air intake

Grace, the 360 and K&N FIPK are "actual cold air intakes." Are you talking about a cowl or hood induction system?

"The person that owned the truck before me took off the stock intake components and just put a cone filter on."

Taken literally, this means the cone filter is mounted directly on top of the TB. Can you be a little bit more accurate in your description?

"don't buy one made out of metal it'll heat the air coming in and
defeat the whole purpose of a "cold" air intake."

Mark, I've seen this repeated many times in this forum and others. There is no basis for this claim. Your TB and manifold are both made of metal and both retain significantly more heat than a thin metal tube. How much heat transfer do you think takes place during the time the air enters and the time it reaches the metal TB?
