I just completed several mods and repairs to my 1997 3.9 and now I have two error codes showing up. The first 11/P1391(Loss of Cam Or Crank) I'm not sure about the cause. Bad crank or cam sensor right after these repairs is suspect. The second 43/P0351 (Ignition Coil #1 Ckt) I assume is because of the MSD ignition mod so I belive the 8910 Tach adapter should fix that. ( I was told I didn't need one for this model)
The truck runs fine. I'm sick of looking at the check engine light. PLEASE HELP.

Most obd2 systems will trow the coil code without
the tach adapter.

Check the plug on the crank sensor, located pass
side behind the head hard to see on G3's the plug
head you will find running behind the dist towards
the other side. 2 wire plug

Now disconnect batt turn key all the way to start
for 30 secs, shut off reconnect batt and start
this will clear the codes

Be sure MSD is hooked up right using the 2
exsisting coil wires (signal & on off) big red
12 volt batt and big black ground and you should
be ok

Larry;
Thanks for all the help during the last week.(emails) You have been a great help.
Just unpluged the crank sensor and pluged it back in. Ran the truck for about 15 min. after clearing the codes and the check engine light has not come back yet. The last time it took a while to come back on. I've got my fingers crossed!

All mag motors located behind pass side head
in the bell housing

The G3 trucks a lot of guys will pull there inner
fender well to do the sensor mod

The older G2 it was easy at least you could look
back there and see the sensor LOL
