Subject: Plugged Oil Screen, Replacement Enough?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hello,
My 2001, 2WD, V6, has the apparently common problem of no oil pressure. I connected a mechanical gauge, with was jumping from 60 PSI to zero, and acting erratic. I first used a quart of Oil Flush from Gunk, then changed the oil. This did not help. I've about got oil pan off, and I can clearly tell the screen is plugged. So, I'll replace the screen and pump. My question is, is there anyway to clean the oil passages? My concern is that the particles that plugged this screen will plug the new one, or are blocking crucial passages, and I might still blow the engine.

Thanks,
Larry Gray

Try changing your oil more often.
