hi all i have this wierd low tone tapping noise when truck is in park sitting still like someone tapping the inside of a tin can in a cave??? its really wierd!! but when you rev engine just a little it goes away!! its not a lifter. you can hear it the most in the cab, when you try to listen for it under hood nothing???? one thing i think it might be is i have gibson headers (3.9l) and there not seated right into the y-pipe right??? but sometimes there is no noise?? im confused on this one!!!! thanks for any help guys.

I had a muffler with a loose clamp that made similar noises as you describe. Exhaust noises can be difficult to trace since the noise vibrates the length of the pipe.
