Can i put a hurst shifter in my 2001 rc v6 4x4
or will i have to make major changes to it? if
even possible, is it worth it?

Someone here has done it i believe the shaft must be bent slightly and the mounting plate must be modified slightly, didn't seem too difficult.
The Hurst shifter IS worth it

what about the linkage though? isnt there something about it not being compatible with newer trucks? heard that from someone at work..... ive got a manual transmission

I wrote to Hurst in Jan 02. They are working on a shifter for '01. They didn't say when it would be completed. They said to check back in 4-6 months. I did see somewhere that someone put one on a '01 with mods to the shifter.

There was no problem with any lingage the problem the main one anyway was the dashboard clearence.
