Your throttle body can be modified to increase the flow from the stock 500cfm to nearly 700cfm. You can figure on getting about 12 more ponies with the mod.

A stock 4.7 tb only flows about 570-600 depending on year.

You can bolt a 4.7 body on but it needs to be 02
or older in 03 the 4.7 went bigger offering better
performance and fuel economy

Larry, are you saying that the 04 won't bolt on or are you just saying that it is a bigger bore.

Larry said the 4.7 tb will bolt on. It doesn't matter whether it's bored out or not. However, like mr. question marks above, I thought the only differences between those years was the bore size, not the bolt pattern.

Actually, the bore size went from 65mm in '00 to 68mm in '01. It did not go bigger in '03 but I think the IAC or TPS on it changed design then.

Which bore is better? Has any one tried this mod? What were the gains on both sizes? Any losses? And last where did it put it? Low-High?
Anyone will sell the 02 or older? Got to be in great condition though, I hate putting older parts on a new truck.

I still have my original '00 TB ( I upgraded to a ported 68mm a couple years ago ). $60 shipped anywhere in U.S., with IAC and a modified TPS that can be adjusted for different voltage settings. About 15,000 miles on it, then stored indoors, post your e-mail if interested.

"Which bore is better?"

A lot depends on what other mods you have planned. Many people seem to think that bigger is always better. I'm one of those that doesn't agree. You will have to do some research to determine what is best for your engine.

Assuming that you have a stock 3.7 tb, it can be modified to up to 700 cfm. A stock 4.7 tb will only flow 570 to 600 cfm. Even a modified 4.7 only gets you up a bit over 700 cfm.
