Kelly's probably complaining because of a 4cyl in their truck. At least by installing a ANY flowmaster, including 40 series, we are trying to make it sound better that a little wind-up toy with factory muffler.
But just in case you ARE as shallow and ignorant as you sound, All of us here ALREADY know that sticking any muffler on a V6 won't turn it into a V8.
V6 RICER OR NOT, I CAN STILL RUN'EM OVER AND PUSH'EM OUTTA THE WAY

Hmmm...interesting. Last I heard on here, everyone says they sound deep and aggressive at idle, but you can tell it's a V6 at high RPMs. State your sources where we all said they are only deep and aggressive, Kelly. ...and quit generalizing.
A V6 cannot sound like a V8 since it's not a V8.
My personal opinion is an original Flowmaster 40 series is the most aggressive sounding muffler you can get on a V6 Dakota.

I thought it sounded pretty good! it sounded v8ish (if thats a word LOL) whe it was first started... I'm sure there are better sounding quieter exhausts out there (dynomax super turbo) but its a v6 its not going to sound deep all th time!! (no offense to the v6ers, I OWNED one :) lighten up!!

WOW lol!! I did think it sounded pretty bad for a 3.9L! because it WAS NOT a 3.9L... it did sound pretty good on startup though! hey josh, do you have a recording of your dak?? I have been wanting to hear it for a while :-)

I have a 98 3.9 with a 40 series Delta Flow. It is pretty deep on start up. I had someone at the exhaust show say. "WOW, that sounds nice. I have heard that dodge's have a great sound. That's a V8 right? No sorry it's a V6." It doesn't sound that great at 5000 rpm though. It sounds better than it did stock, i will say that. I can have it in the garage and it will viberate some of the things in the house, my parents like it because they know when i'm home at night. well i got a little off subject, but oh well.

ok ok ok everyone just FORGET this thread!! i mean, if we keep responding "kelly" will just keep F-ing with everyone! keep in mind that sound is a matter of personal preference. What one person thinks sounds great, someone else may think it sounds like trash...
go check out Chris's page (forexfour) at www.caoffroaders.com
he has flowmaster 40 series exh. on his 3.9L dak, and you can hear it in the vids pretty good (except the ones that the mic was in the red v8 kota) it sounds much better then my glasspak sounded (again MY opinion) and sounds a LOT different then the (4cyl) sound that was posted earlier...
