Would a PCM change be worth the effort on a 97 CC 2wd 3.9 5spd. The only mods done are: APC CAI (made for a 98 accord/civic, new mount brackets made) and flowmaster 40 series delta flow. I reset the PCM after the mods, and is now running rich (big suprise)
Ideas/Thoughts??

Thanks

If the map sensor gets lazy u will run a little on the rich side or if vaccuum at idle is low.

The pcm may not have had enough time learning ur mods yet. On my dakota it takes 300 miles for it to start running ok and then after another 300 its learned the mod.

Most of the time a chip or a pcm program will tend to make it run on the rich side. The reason being is they follow this rule of thumb... that its better to run slightly rich then it is to run slightly lean. My guess here is that the pcm does the same thing after a hard reset during its learning curve.

o2, IAT and engine temp if bad will run rich
check these things

The computers need to learn
50 mile short term learn
200 to 300 full leran

There is no PCM for the 97, superchips late 97 98
and up

Instead of a PCM go with the jet chip and do the CPS mod, and add a v8 throttle body you will be happy with the results.

Is the jet chip available in stage 1 and/or stage 2 types. If both, whats best?

Thanks
