Subject: need wiring help

I removed my clutch fan on my '02 and am running the stock electric one. I want to wire up a toggle switch so I can turn the fan on and off and still have the fan come on when i turn the a/c on. I don't know sh!t about wiring so could someone please give me some DETAILED instructions on how to do this?

Yes the thermo switch that turns the fan on just
completes the ground.

Put a switch to ground and the ground side of fan
when on fan will run if off when thermo swith
trips it will still run.

Do not cut the wire just tap into it.

probe the wires and 1 will be live 12 volt the
other dead until thermo comes on use this wire.

Wrong answer, with both wires while still connected to the fan (if the switch completes the ground) both wires will read 12 volts with a meter and a test light will probably light until the ground is completed (fan running). Probe the wires while the fan is running to find which one has no voltage, that will be the wire you need to connect your switch to ground to.

Or disconnect the wires from the fan one at a time, the one that has no voltage while disconnected will be the one to switch to ground.

Like J&J says just tap into the ground side of the circuit which will give you two swtiches in parallel, either of which will turn the fan on.
