i put a dual exit cat-back system from gibson on a 99 dakota 3.9L and have read alot of articles from here and speed tweaks. was wondering if anyone has a dual cat back and change to a single outlet and if so any difference? they say single out let is the better way to go??? if you have changed what muffler you are using.

cold air intake
(removed flap for intake)
crank pos. senor mod
gibson headers & cat-back
tps mod
180 deg thermostat (big difference)
want to do ait sensor move, but have read good and bad things???)
3:55 gears yuck
and i get about 17.6 in the city !!!!

I have a gibson 3 inch single exhaust. It stole my low-end, nice power from 2000 - 4000 rpms. And it's LOUD. I plan to switch to a flowmaster 70 series w/ the stock 2 1/2 inch tailpipe. I want something not so LOUD. And hope to regain some of my low-end.

I took the same system Dale has off my Dakota. It sounded terrible and robbed all low end power. I installed a flowmaster 70 that is 2.5 in 2.5 out. It sounds good without being too loud. Also, the truck has more power and better gas milage than it did before.

What do you all think of this Flowmaster Force II Cat-Back Exhaust Systems? How do they sound? Any power gains or losses? How does it affect MPG?
