Some one please give me a clue. I just had the engine in
my 94' 3.9 dak replaced. New plugs, new wires, new cap,
new rotor, frech battery, and working full pump - the
whole mix was runing fine until alittle while ago.
Suddenly it won't start!! Now if I have fuel, and air,
and everything for the spark is new - why won't the damn
thing fire up! I'm going crazy.

You can't be getting fuel to the plugs if all are dry after cranking.

Calm down a bit.
Fuel, air and fire.
Air is not usually a problem.
Fuel: Are you getting fuel to the injectors?
Turn the ignition on and check at the valve on the rail. (Looks like a tire valve stem).
If it pisses out, you have fuel to injectors.
This does not prove injectors and related circuits are working, but tells you fuel pump etc is ok.

Fire: Pull a plug and ground the outer casing to the block. Crank the engine over while a friend watches the gap for spark. A nice blue spark tells you that coil, wires and plugs are ok.

After doing the above, post results and maybe someone can help.

Well it's gone to take a minute before i can get my buddy
over to help me with the spark test but the injector rail
valve just let out a few drops of fuel then nothing. Even
after the key is turn off and the back to on (cranked even)
the valve released nothing after that. I'm assuming the
fuel pump is dead for right now and will confirm with my
buddy later. That sucks because the fuel pump is
relatively new (replaced 4 years but only 20k miles ago).
Oh well thanks for the information anyway.

OK. Don't bother your buddy yet.
Time to check the fuel lines back to the tank.
If it's like my 96, there is a filter and hi-presure
pump mounted along the frame on the drivers side.
(Hope I have this right. Got A Neon, Bronco and Dakota here), but if your ignition is on, you should have 12v to the hi-press pump.
Check from the connector to ground.
As a side note, I had a real brainer with the Bronco
that would work fine one day and leave me stranded the next. Ended up being a bad connection on the fuel shut-off switch located down by the passenger
floorboards.
Anyway, no pressure to rail, no go!
Save the battery, because you don't need to crank to fix this problem.

Nothing on the frame rails but hardlines. The pump is in
the tank and the filter is on the engine as part of the
pressure regulator. Fun stuff.

I thought my 96 had the hi-pres pump on the frame
but must be mistaken. Too dark here to look tonight.
I think you have a fuel delivery problem if you don't get a steady stream at the rail.
Work your back to the tank, and if the pump is indeed
within, you know what has to be done.
Please wait for second opinions here, as I'm not a Mechanic, but been thru it all. (I think).

I believe that your filter is on the frame rail under the driver's door unless someone relocated it. My 93's is located under the door on the inside of the frame.

My 94 with 3.9L only has one fuel filter and it's located in the fuel tank on top of the sending unit/pump. If there is no fuel in the fuel rail I would check the fuse for the fuel pump and then the pump itself. If the fuse is fine have a friend turn the key from off to run while you listen carefully to the fuel pump. No sound usually means the pump isn't working. The pump should go on for about 2 seconds when the key is turned on.

Test to see if the pump runs by turning the key on like verbal said, you can hear it clearly from the cab. if it doesnt kick on you either have a bad relay or connection or the pump is dead, now, if you feel ambitions stick your hand on top of the tank and grab the wire connection and make sure it feels connected and then jiggle it around, try again...cant hurt
good luck
